Africa Institute for Energy Governance (AFIEGO) is a non governmental organization based in Kampala-Uganda.

AFIEGO was registered by the government of the Republic of Uganda in 2004 under the Non Governmental Organization Registration Act. With this registration, the organization is legally permitted to carry out all the activities for which it was formed as per its Constitution.

The idea of establishing AFIEGO came in after realizing the gaps in the formulation and enforcement of policies and laws in the energy sector across the world. It is these gaps and other shortcomings that account to the global energy crisis. AFIEGO is carrying out a number of activities to see to it that the Government of Uganda uses the country's resources for the benefit of its citizens.
