 Dickens Kamugisha The Chief Executive Officer of AFIEGO, a Lawyer by proffession. He is an advocate of the Courts of Judicature of Uganda, he is a member of a number of proffessional societies including; Uganda Law Society, East African Law Society and Uganda Association for Environmental Impact Assessment. Dickens has undergone training in various professional fields, in the years 2005 and 2006, he underwent training on Access to Biological Resources, Benefit Sharing and Material Transfer Agreement (ABS) organized and sponsored by UNEP, GEF and Environmental Law Institute. He has also trained in international trade policy, biosafety mechanisms and intellectual property law and health in Africa. Between June and July 2007, Dickens undertook training on the capacity building course for NGOs leaders in the Lake Victoria Basin organized by the OSIENALA in collaboration with Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology-Kenya and Swedish for International Development. He has written various educative and informative articles on the Electricity Sector in Uganda that have been published in the leading media houses in Uganda. Dickens has carried out extensive research on the various laws and policies in the environmental and energy sectors in Uganda and is currently writing his thesis entitled: Electricity liberalization and its governance implications in East Africa, leading to the award of a Masters Degree in Law/Energy Governance from Makerere University. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental management from Makerere University. Before she joined AFIEGO, she worked at Agency for Environment and Wetlands as an intern. , Tel: +256-774-804414  Akankwasa Sarah Sarah is a program assistant at AFIEGO under the renewable energy efficiency program. She is a teacher by profession with a bachelor’s degree in Education from Kyambogo University. Under this programme, she has written various articles on renewable energy that have been published in the print media. Sarah also carries out research and advocacy activities under the programme and assists AFIEGO staff in execution of their duties and tasks.

Tel: +256-71-2-138690  Francis Tumusiime Francis works as a Research Fellow at AFIEGO; He is a Lawyer by Proffession, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Makerere University. He heads AFIEGO’s Extractive Industries Governance Programme. He has vast experience in extractive law research and advocacy work in Uganda. Francis also holds a Certificate in Human Rights and Good Governance (HUGGO) from the HUGGO Programme of DANIDA.  Gloria Jimenez Gloria is an Associate in the Extractive Industries Governance Programme with AFIEGO and interim Coordinator for Publish What You Pay-Uganda for the summer. She is currently a Master's Student of International Affairs with a concentration in Development at the New School University in New York City. She has previously served as an intern with Revenue Watch Institute. Gloria is working on briefs on oil legislation, coordinating and helping to execute the work of Publish What You Pay-Uganda and providing programme support.
 Kakuru Doreen Sandra Doreen works as a Research Assistant under the Renewable Energy Efficiency Programme. She holders a Bachelor’s degree in Ethics and Development Studies from Uganda Martyr’s University, Nkozi and a Certificate in Microsoft project software from Uganda Management Institute. Before she joined AFIEGO, she carried out research under the SPEAR project (Study on the perceptions, attitudes and utilization of HIV/AIDS related services in the Ugandan public sector) funded by World Vision and USAID. She carries out research and advocacy activities under the programme and writes articles on Renewable Energy as well. She also provides administrative support to various activities programmes at AFIEGO.

 Lynn Turyatemba Lynn Turyatemba is a legal officer at AFIEGO. She holds an LLB from Makerere University and a Diploma in legal practice from Law Development Centre. She has been exposed to diverse working environments; learning to do more than ‘lawyering’. She has been a project Assistant with Sunshine Projects Ltd, a consultancy firm; a communications/ personal assistant to the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda; a legal clerk at Sebalu & Lule Co. Advocates and a legal assistant to the Managing Partner KK Advocates Kigali Rwanda.  Moses Nabasa Moses Nabasa is the programme officer in charge of the Extractives Industry Programme at AFIEGO. He holds a B.A. Economics from Kyambogo University. He has had further research related post graduate training. He has worked with Pacific Consultants International under the Directorate of Water Development and Alexander Forbes which was formerly Liberty Insurance Promoters.  Patience Atukunda Patience is currently working as a Finance Officer with AFIEGO. She possesses a Certified Public Accountants certificate of Uganda (CPA) from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). She also possesses Kenya Accounting Technician Certificate (KATC) from Kenya Accounting and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB). Before joining AFIEGO, she worked with Pearl Development Group as an Administrator/Accounts assistant and JIMARK-GD & Associates, an accounting consultancy firm that provides accounting consultancy services to different organizations/companies. During her time with J-mark-GD & Associates she also worked closely with 2007 Final Accounts for Excel Insurance Company and My Office Company Limited. RESEARCH ASSOCIATES Edwin Muhereza Edwin Muhereza is a research associate with AFIEGO. He is a lawyer by proffession and holds a Masters degree in law from Makerere University. Edwin is currently a consultant on the Extractive Industries Governance Programme.
Doreen Elima Doreen Elima is also a research associate with AFIEGO. She has a bachelor’s degree in Law from Makerere University. Doreen works on AFIEGO’s access rights project as an external editor. She also works as a private State Attorney with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Edward .F. Natamba Edward is a research associate with AFIEGO. He holds a bachelors degree in Social Science from Makerere University. Edward also holds an advanced diploma in Business Economics from Makerere Business Institute (MBI). Currently, he is the Finance and Research Advisor of AFIEGO.
